Hana Japanese Persimmon Tree Overview

You won't believe the large fruit this tree bears. Hana Fuyu, also known as Yotsundani bears very large, reddish, juicy fruits with sweet orange flesh. There is no puckering when eating the Oriental persimmons as they are non-astringent. Oriental persimmons prefer moderate winters and relatively mild summers -- suitable for growing in Hardiness Zones 6b to 9. This persimmon tree is a handsome ornamental with large leaves and can turn dramatic shades of yellow, orange and red in the fall. Oriental Persimmons are deciduous trees and perform best in full sun with well drained, slightly acidic soil.
They can grow up to 10-12 feet tall.
